RELAXING AT UNIVERSAL STUDIO SINGAPORE

Assalamualaikum & Greetings my brothers and sisters...

Have you guys heard about Universal Studio Singapore (USS)? I'm sure majority have heard and read about this theme park and maybe only a few of you manage to go there, furthermore many thinks that the theme park is only for children and teenagers and not suitable for adults. Is it??? Acctually USS is for everybody from youngsters to senior citizen..!!! So this time let me share with you guys the excitement and why you should visit this place.

Universal Studio Singapore is a second Universal Studio theme park to open in Asia after Japan and it is the first in South East Asia.  USS was officially opened to public on 20 October 2009 and has attracted more than two million visiotrs within nine months from its opening date. USS is located on a 20 hectares land within Resort World Sentosa in Sentosa Island.

There are 24 attractions and 18 of it was specially design for the park.  Furthermore this attractions were divided into 7 unique theme zones based on a blocbuster movie or television show.  Let us see what is the unique of each park...

We will start with Sci-Fi City. This theme park refer to what city and metropolis might be look like in the future.

The main attraction in this park are the Battlestar Galactica; the world tallest paired roller coaster.  One is called HUMAN and the other one is called CYCLON. Warning who ever has a heart attack PLEASEEE don't try this but who ever feels stress is good to try this ride...hehehhee relax your mind and soul..!!! 

Other attractions beside the roller coasters were taking pictures with their characters...ada sesetengah karakter tu tak kenal pun hehehee.  The best attraction here was the TEACUP...hehehee..why??..Because it is under parental guide..!!! :))

Next are ANCIENT EYGYPT.  This theme park was named after the rich Egyptioan architecture and artifacts during the Golden Age of Egyptian Exploration in the 1930s.

The main attractions in this park is the indoor roller coaster.  It is not as insane the Battlestar but it is scary because it is dark inside and moreover it moves backwards..hehehe..!!!

So, the safers way to enjoy this park is by taking picture with their characters such as Cleopartra and the two mumias.  Other attractions here are the vintage car ride, the retail shop and F&B outlets (It is Halal here..!!).

Next is the THE LOST WORLD.  There are two small theme park here which are :

The JURASSIC PARK.  The main attraction are the water roller coaster.  Sorry not much to tell because it was closed during our visit.

 The other small theme park in Lost World are the WATERWORLD.  The main attraction here is their live stunt show performance.  Be extra careful here, bring along your raincoat if you do not want to get wet...!!! The show was interesting and the best part all of us was soaking wet..!!!  For muslim, alert the F&B outlet here in Lost World Park is not halal..!!

Next park is the FAR FAR AWAY.  This theme park is all about Shrek, so for Shrek lovers especially kiddies this park is the best..!!!

Arah menuju ke rumah Shrek..!!! JANGAN TERTIPU...!!!  there is nothing inside there..!!! It is only an attraction...!!  The main attraction here were the Shrek 4-D 17 minutes movie and the Donkey Live Show.  The donkey was funny..!!!

 The castle above is where you will see the Shrek 4D.  During peak season, you may q-up until 60 mins...!!!  Anyhow its worth waiting...!!!  Besides the retail and F&B outlets (the goldilock chicken was nice and it is Halal..!!!...yummy..yummy..!!!!) , there are roller coaster for junior and other attractions for kids.

Next is MADAGASCAR.  This park was inspired by DreamWorks from the movie Madagascar which features four zoo animals Alex the lion, Gloria the hypo, Marty the zebra and Melman the giraffe.

The main attraction in this park was the live show concert.  Its funny...!!!  So don't miss it, check the time the entrance. 

After the show, you can take photo with them.  Other attraction here were A Madagascar Adventure - a waterboat ride and King Kulien Beach Party - its a merry-go-round.

Next is the HOLLYWOOD.  This park is the main entrance, so when you enter the USS,  you reach this theme park first.  Its only attraction here is the broadway-style theatre.  Currently this theatre is playing a rock-an-roll musical - Monster Rock.


 Besides watching the monster rock musical, get ready your camera..!!! Your favourite artis might be walking besides you..!!! They are very happy to take photos with you..!!!  tengoklah gaya kak Marilyn Monroe, Abang Beetlejuice dan Uncle Frankestein...posing over-over gitu..!!!

Mr and Mrs Woodpecker pun tak lepas peluang nak posing jugak..!!

Hollywood is the glamorous place, so we at this park, you can act and you can feel glamoury even by wearing the hat...hehehehe...!!!

The last park is NEW YORK. This park is based on the original New York city during the era of post-modernization.  The trademark during this era was it city skyline taxi, the neon lights, the romantic atmosphere of big apple and etc.

Tidak perlu ke New York lagi sebab keadaan prasarana di sini membuatkan anda terasa berasa seolah-olah di New York.  The main attraction here is the Steven Spielberg Lights, camera and action, where they show you how the films were done using the blue screen.

Now enough about the park, the question now is :

1.  How to go there ??
There are 4 ways; either by bus, car, taxi or mtr.

• By public bus : You may take any of the following buses to reach at the bus stop outside the VivoCity : 10, 30, 65, 93, 97, 100, 131, 143, 145, 166, 188 and 855 at any station.  Then when you reach the VivoCity, take bus RWS 8 to go to USS. The fare for round trip using this bus is only S$2 and the operating hours are from 6.00am to 11.30pm daily.
• By car : It takes you about 1 hour drive from the Johore Bahru to Sentosa Island.  If you wish to overnight in one of the hotels in Sentosa Island and already made a booking thru online, just show your booking confirmation if you enter via Sentosa gantry and you don't have to pay for the surcharge. However, if you don't intend to overnight or have not booking the hotels in Sentosa Island, it is advisable that you enter the Sentosa Island directly to Resort World Sentosa basement car park without passing the Sentosa gantry.  By doing this way, you will only pay for the parking charges which is S$7 for the first one hour and S$2 for next subsequent hour.  If you enter via Sentosa Gantry, you need to pay the surcharge of S$3 per trip and also the parking fees.
• By taxi: Sama macam bawa kereta juga dan bezanya cuma apabila meniggalkan Sentosa Resort perlu bayar surcharge S$3.  Advisable take a Yellow-Top taxi if you do not want to pay the surcharge. 
• By Mrt Train : make sure you take the North-East Line train to Harbour Front.  Look at the map below, make sure you take the purple lane.

 If you reach Singapore by flight either landing at the budget terminal or international terminal, you need to take the lrt to Tanah Merah and from Tanah Merah, you need to take East-West Line Mtr train (Green lane) to Outram Park where you need to change again the mtr to North-East Line Mtr (purple lane) to your last destination which is the Harbour Front.  Then you need to walk a little bit about 5 minutes to Vivo City.  From the airport to Harbour Front, the train cost you S$3.20 and if you returned back the ticket at the end of your journey, they will give you S$1.

 From Vivo City to Sentosa Island, you can either take a public bus as mentioned above RWS8, walking track or taking the Sentosa train.  Public bus cost S$2 round trip, walking track cost S$1 and Sentosa Train cost S$3 round trip.  Some people prefer to walk to Sentosa Island and return to Vivo City using the Sentosa train, they will save S$2 because to return from Sentosa Island to Vivo City is free.

Advisable Tips :

1. Always plan your holiday..!!! Set a date that suitable with everybody. Always come out with more than one group of date.  For example 2/9/2011 - 4/9/2011(1 group). Always plan your holiday at least 2 month before if you want to save your budget.
2. Then choose your transport you gonna used to go Singapore ???  Advisable if you plan to go with freinds ala-ala bagpackked, go by flight..!!! Recommended Tiger Airways because this flight is a budget flight which everybody can afford.  So make a booking during its offer because its worthy cheaper than taking a bus or driving..!!!  If you are going with your family and there is no babies, better take a flight or else better drive down to Singapore.
3. After you have confirm the travelling date and the flight ticket, booked your accomodation.  Advisable stay overnight in Sentosa Island.  It is easy if you plan to enjoy at the USS until night. The hotel rate in Sentosa Island are between S$115 - S$250 (around RM 300 - RM 600) if you booked at least a month before you travelling date, or else it will be very expensive..!!!  Also checked with the hotel whether they have a USS family package.  Pakej ini lebih jimat terutama untuk mereka yang bercadang membawa family.
4. The most important thing after done with your accomodation booking, don't forget to book your USS ticket.  It is advisable to buy online so that you don't have line-up to get the ticket.  The ticket cost for adult is S$72 (around RM 180), child S$52 (around RM 130) and senior citizen S$36 (around RM 90).
5. Confirm your transport while in Singapore. Advisable to use the MTR train.  So easy..!!! Make sure you have a copy of the MTR route.  the map can either be download and print or you can get it at the torist information counter at the Changi airport.
6. Lastly, don't forget to put aside your travelling budget..!!!

Nak elak panas takut sakit kepala sebab cuaca dia memang panas terik.

In case takut basah masa main dekat Jurassic Park sebab coaster dlm air.

Extra charge untuk masuk dalam Hollywood Theatre after 7.00pm untuk tengok show dia.  The only theatre or theme park yang bukak after 7.00pm.

Beg bertutup / zip

Untuk keselamatan.  Takut nanti kita naik roller coaster barang jatuh/terkeluar, jenuh pulak nak cari.  If possible handbag tu bawak yg besar sikit supaya boleh simpan barang lain dalam beg jugak, so senang sikit nak sambung main dekat park yg lain tak perlu nak pegang kiri kanan dengan beg plastic saja.  Kalau boleh jgn bawak handbag jenis sandang belakang, takut orang bukak tanpa kita sedari.

Botol kosong / tumbler minuman

Ini pilihan, bawak pun taka pa, tak bawak pun taka pa.  dekat sana ada byk water cooler so maybe kita boleh isi dalam botol kita dan boleh minum anytime.  Tak payah nak pi cari vender machine or kedai nak beli minuman.  Nak balik boleh buang terus botol tu, ringan sikit beg.

Biscuits / titbits

Untuk alas perut sebab kita akan lunch lambat untuk elak long queue dan untuk jimat masa kita.  Tak payah bawak banyak-banyak, kita enjoy food dekat sana saja.  Anyway its holiday..!!! Meaning NO DIET..!!!  hehehehe.

Wang secukupnya untuk shopping hehehhee…!!!

h/p – possible yang roaming takut hilang senang kita nak contact sesama kita tapi bare in mind the charges is high..!!!

Stoking & sarung lengan – untuk solat tak payah bawak telekung masuk, kita pakai tudung kita saja sudah.  Just spare stoking and sarung lengan takut lengang baju tak cukup panjang nak tutup sehingga pergelangan tangan or seluar kita tak cukup labuh nak tutup kaki.

Spec Hitam – nak jaga mata heehehehe..!!!

Passport – jgn tinggal dekat locker, bawak masuk sekali untuk jaga keselamatan kita.

RAYA WITH DIYA

Assalamualaikum & Greetings my Brothers and Sisters,

Salam eid Mubarak to all..!!! This is the first time raya, with a baby in the family...our lil Diya..!! So everybody was soo excited.... Semua asyik nak bergambar dengan Diya...gaya-gaya artis gitu..!!! the best part, Diya such a good girl...tak meragam pun.  Uncle Yen and Uncle Jan asyik dok passing-passing nak posing dengan Diya tapi paling juara posing for sure Uncle Yen la...

First day raya, Diya pakai baju kurung, ibu beli..sooo sweet budak kecik nih..!!!  Sesampai saja Diya dekat rumah tengahari tu, nampak saja Uncle Yen, mata teruih dah jadi "Belia A" (don't ask me what is belia A..hehehehe coz I myself pun tak tau..ni tok, toksu ngan tokwa Diya yang asyik sebut bila nampak mata terbeliak...hehehee) Suka sangat dia dekat Uncle Yen dia,agaknya sebab Diya rasa mata dia sama besaq kot dengan mata uncle yen...hehehhee..!!!

Gambar Uncle Jan tak ada dalam simpanan, so tak bolehlah nak upload.  Anti J pun tak sempat nak posing dengan Diya pakai baju kurung sebab dua-dua Uncle dok passing baton..!!!

Masa sesi fotografi li la baru sempat Anti J nak posing dengan tapi stil Uncle Jan and Uncle Yen masih dok pasing baton.  Wan dengan tok pun tak mau lepaskan peluang ni nak sama-sama posing.  Tapi yang tak bestnya, masa ni Diya dah tukar baju ala-ala artis gitu..!!!  Uncle Jan kata baju ni macam baju 'Dutch Lady'...hehehehe..!!!



Masa nak bagi duit raya dekat Diya, lawak sungguh, Diya excited sebab Uncle Jan bagi dua 'angpow' so bolehlah pegang dua-dua belah tangan, TAPI bila Uncle Yen tunjuk saja RM 50, wow..!!! mata terus terbeliak-terbeliak, tergedik-gedik nak pegang duit tu, 'angpow' Uncle Jan terus dia lepas..hehehehe...macam tau-tau jer angpow tu tak sama nilai dengan RM 50..!!!  Memang well trained..!!!

Rasanya ibu trained Diya sikit saja kot, Wan dia ajar lagi best bagi budak kecik ni pegang duit RM 2,000, sampai-sampai terbeliak-terbeliak siap dengan mulut muncung lagi...over excited...hehehhe...!!!



Bila Tok, bagi RM 1, siap Diya tolak lagi duit tu...hehehe nampak sangatla RM1 tak laku dan bila wan nakit ambik balik duit tu, sikecik ni pegang punya la kuat siap buat bunyi marah lagi tak bagi wan ambik balik...hehehhe lawak sungguh..kecik-kecik lagi dah belajar jadi materialistik..!!! hehehe..!!!

Second day raya, as usual we celebrated in Alor Setar (tanah jajahan..!!!).  We began with pakcik's house in the morning.  Dah macam trend, breakfast mesti rumah pakcik and pakcik prepare just for us his special dish mee kari and kuah kacang campur kelempung and perut utnuk dimakan dengan ketupat.  Tengahari lunch dekat rumah wa.  Wa masak buat gulai ikan kering and her specialites masa raya adalah daging glamer..!!!  Masa dekat rumah Wa, ramai sungguh dayang yang nak jaga dan tangkap gambaq dia...Kalai letak tabung buat kutipan sekali snap RM2 ni mau boleh dapat ribu-ribu gak nih...hehehehe..!!!

Masa second day raya ni, Diya still pakai baju kurung tapi kali ni baju kurung ni toktam girl yang buat.  Anti J pun tak lepas peluang jugak nak menyelit hehehe..!!!

Diya masa ni memang ramah sungguh, nak cakap jer walaupun tak tau apa dia dok cerita...macam-macam bunyi ada.

Diya dok kusyuk tengok gelang mak aida... yang lawaknya, Diya buak dekkk jer tapi yang posing lebih mak-mak sedara dan ibu dia..!!! hehehhe...!!





Lepas lunch, toksu boy buat game Binggo, tengokla piala yang toksu boy buat..and for the first time eva, Anti J dapat hadiah walaupun 3rd place...hehehhe..!!! This year Diya tak boleh nak join any games lagi tapi next toksu boy kata buat game untuk diya pulak.

Lupa pulak, sebelum beraya di Alor Setar, kami singgah di Bukit Besar tengok tok, nasib dah bawak Diya jumpa nek sebelum nek pi Bukit Besar.  Our tok ni dah ada 15 cicit and Diya yang ke-14.  Masih kuat tapi sound saja trouble.

Lepas Asar, we had a bowling competition.  Toksu boy dah bahagikan kumpulan, semua orang terlibat except for tontam girl sebab masalah kesihatan, so toktam girl la yang jaga Diya sampai Diya terlelap sekejap.  Agaknya terkejut dengar bising, Diya terus jaga and terus aktif.  Tengokla diya dok melawak dengan kakak lili, so sweet..!!! (Video ni ambik dekat Fb ina).

Kesian Diya, malam tu, walaupun penat and ngantuk, still nak gelak and senyum dan tak pulak meragam.  Well that was the last day we all see Diya.  Malam tu Diya balik Lek Lau and the next day, me, wan, tok, uncle yen and uncle jan went to pangkor for holidays...Alahai rindu la dekat budak kecik tu...!!!
